Ogden Auto Service is a family owned auto repair shop located at 523 Ogden Ave, Downers Grove, IL 60515. We operate this website to tell you about our services, share current offers, and give you a simple way to reach us or request an appointment. Information you give us

We only collect personal information that you choose to send us. That happens in a few places on this site:

Contact and appointment request form. Your first and last name, phone number, email address, vehicle year, make and model, the service you need, how you heard about us, your message, and any photo or document you attach.
Careers application form. Your first and last name, phone number, email address, the position you are applying for, your availability, years of experience, trade qualifications, how you heard about us, your message, and a resume if you attach one.
Phone calls and email. Whatever you share with us when you call the shop or write to us directly.

We do not ask for a Social Security number, date of birth, payment card number, or any government identification on this website. Please do not send that information through our forms.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we use a small number of tools that collect technical information when you visit:

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are located. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, device type, browser, and the pages you view. We do not use it to identify you by name.
Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs that record IP addresses, browser types, pages requested, and the time of each request. These are used for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and from the Google Maps embed on our contact page. We do not place advertising cookies of our own.

If you give us your phone number through a form, we may call you about your request. We will not send you marketing text messages unless you have separately asked us to.

Services we use to run this website

A few outside companies process information on our behalf. Each one has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it.

Web3Forms delivers the contents of our contact and careers forms, including any attachment, to our email inbox.
Tekmetric powers our online appointment scheduler. When you click a Schedule Appointment button you leave our website and enter Tekmetric, which collects the information you type there under its own terms and privacy policy.
Google provides Google Analytics, the Google Maps embed on our contact page, and the Google Fonts used for the text on this site.
Hostinger hosts the website and keeps the server logs described above.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to anyone. We share it only in these situations:

With the service providers listed above, to the extent they need it to do their job for us
With a towing partner or parts supplier, only when you ask us to arrange a tow or order parts for your vehicle
When the law requires it, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order

How long we keep information

Messages and appointment requests are kept in our email for as long as we need them to serve you and keep reasonable business records. Job applications are kept for a reasonable period after a position is filled in case a similar role opens. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's settings for our account. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below, and we will honor the request unless we are required to keep a record by law.

Security

This website uses HTTPS so that information you send through our forms is encrypted in transit. We limit access to your information to the people at the shop who need it to help you. No website or email system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information such as payment details through the site. We will take payment at the counter.

Your choices

Access, correction, or deletion. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@ogdenautoservice.com or call the shop and we will take care of it.
Analytics. You can block Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt out browser add on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
Cookies. Every major browser lets you delete or block cookies. Blocking them may affect the map on our contact page but will not stop you from calling us or using our forms.

This website is intended for adults who own or are responsible for a vehicle. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

This site links to outside websites, including our booking system, Google Maps, and our profiles on Google, Yelp, Facebook, Nextdoor, and Instagram. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
